That was a scary day and one half. The web site server crashed and I was told that the hard drive data may all be lost here at the home of The Average Man. I have not done a back up of any of the data bases here in over 6 months so loosing all of the posts and pictures would have been a real pain.

I do have the other site at Metal Tiger which contains many of the good posts here but rebuilding from scratch was not something that I wanted to think about just now. I even went so far as to start looking at other hosting products. I found a few really good ones mainly from the reviews located at “TheHostingChart“.

Well now that the site is back up I will have several months to contemplate the move. Ruben and I will discuss this and maybe go to the same place. We will see. Ruben at The Captain’s Blog has been terrific. Currently I have been leasing web space from him under his contract with the hosting server. My other web sites have their own locations so I am used to doing this myself now and will eventually move all of the sites to one location under one roof and control panel. Hurray for technology.

OH MY GOD, the home site of the real Metal Tiger davidgodden.com is down. No problem you say, well the crash may have lost all of my data and files for the site. I did do a back up a while back but have forgotton where I stored the file. Even if I do recover the file none of the pictures will be there. Anyway this is discouraging and I will now have to search for a new web hosting service. The site at Metal Tiger is still up and running so not to worry.

I will be using this service here at blogger more now. I guess in the end Blogger comes through with flying colors again. Yippy for Blogger.
