My Son The Peacock

I took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes. We decided to grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors: green, red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring at him. The teenager would look and find him staring every time.
When the teenager had enough, he sarcastically asked, “What’s the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?”
I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response; knowing he would have a good one. And in classic style he did not bat an eye in his response.
‘Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my son.’
This little joke story came from my friend Karen. Hoped you liked it.
Financial Woe and Hope

Barack Obama gave a press conference yesterday addressing the financial difficulties that are facing the United States and talked about his transition team. These are important times and the press conference that he gave was deliberate, grave and very much in the presidential mode. I believe that Barack Obama is a “transformational figure” (quote from Colin Powell) and will change the way the people of the world view American politics.
Is there any great news in this press conference. The short answer is probably no. In a longer more thought out contemplation of the event though, one can gather from the tone, the coming administration will be temperate and fair. We gained an appreciation for what is to come in the new administration. The choice of Representative Rahm Emanuel, the Democrat from Illinois for Obama’s chief of staff, is a wonderful balance to the mild and soft spoken Obama. Rahmbo, as he has been called is a tough political operator and should be instrumental in getting Obama’s program through the legislature.
Yes We Can
Posted by: | CommentsTonight the World witnessed an American Revolution in the Election of Barak Obama as President of the United States. This is the redemption for America’s origanel sin. I am humbled and profoundly moved by this moment in American history.
We Lost By One Vote
Posted by: | CommentsSome may say the news report was a mistake, others will be getting out the rope for a quick lynching. I say, “I voted by mail last week, trust me I did!” But the mob rule overcomes all rational thinking in the frenzy of the moment and I am sorry to say this will be my last post before the morning unless I hear from the Governor. From now on, if I am allowed to live, I will be doing hard time on the Siberian plain, braking rocks or some such thing.
You will have to judge for yourself. Do I deserve such treatment? Only time will tell if all of these recriminations and punishments are in fact due. For myself I think not, remember I voted by mail. Maybe we should have the US Postal service up for terminal dispatch via the hang-mans-rope. If there are any supporters after you view this video please write to your local Senator and get me out of this God-Forsaken quandary. I am not the social detritus that you may think!
Thank you Jim Cary for this ignoble distinction!
